J Richard Knapp is an American author from Roseburg, Oregon. Educated at Boise State University and the University of Oregon, he has worked over three decades as an elementary teacher, public school principal, university level graduate school instructor, a state leader of Oregon public education, and a member of the International Symposium on Education with leaders from Japan, Germany, Great Britain, China, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
The author/speaker is recognized internationally as a
leader in bully prevention. Knapp's most
recent accomplishments include the
founding of KnappStory Media that represents the author's presentations, books, and
other publications such as the International Bully Prevention Newsletter.
J Richard Knapp's work focuses on the six fundamental elements of bully
prevention: dignity, respect, understanding, compassion, calmness, and
equilibrium. These are the core elements that families must teach their
children. Our role as a community is to support the family in these teachings.
Knapp's newest book, Nowhere to Hide, emphasizes these elements.
